vegan gossip
starting early next week, Formosa, our favourite mock meat dealer, will offer new dishes, we have seen the new menu and it looks and sounds glorious. we even snuck a picture of the new menu but we don’t want to spoil your surprise. let’s just say: lamb with couscous, dumplings and gulasch may or may not have been featured items on said new menu.

The Soy Latte Chronicles pt. 6 & "Now what about...

vegan baking: Marmorkuchen
rainy summer days were invented for baking, i swear. i decided to finally make a Marmorkuchen (marble cake), an old childhood favourite of mine. the recipe was found on the interwebs and was easy enough, eventhough i almost sliced the top of a finger off when mixing the margarine with the sugar. don’t ask, it’s a long embarrassing story, and nothing a band aid couldn’t fix...

when vegans eat out pt. 4
Team Vegan went on a little field trip today to check out the new vegan fast food joint The GoVegDiner in the far away 10th district. Take the U1 to Reumannsplatz and walk up to the friendly and bright new joint, it’s actually bigger than i would have expected, seems to be located in a former butcher shop (Veganism 1: Meatism 0!) and even the propaganda (the supreme master tv is on...

new vegan product: Krunch!
i mainly picked up this organic sugar-free snack for it’s cartoonish sounding name, it reminds me of the old Batman series.  basically this is nothing special, looks and tastes like a muesli bar that someone stepped on.  seen at Formosa for a superheroic € 1,09. KAPOW! BLAM!

vegan on a budget pt. 3
over the next few weeks i am challenging myself to be less wasteful, use all items from the pantry (yes, i have a pantry!) which will also help me to be a more creative cook, and buy vegan and organic products without spending a whole lot of cash on them. today i went to Hofer (Aldi for our German friends) and got all this for € 15 (had a € 10 coupon, too!) bananas, zucchini, cherry tomatoes,...

The Soy Latte Chronicles pt. 5
The Kantine at Vienna’s best hang out spot, the MQ, offers a great soy latte, you can choose between regular and malt coffee even!  customer service is always very hit-or-miss, but their comfortable couches or the generous outdoor seating make up for the snobby waitress slash aspiring actress. costs an ok-ish € 3, 30.
