Austrian tradition goes vegan.
the historic theories:
The dish may have originated in Milan, northern Italy, as cotoletta alla milanese, and may have appeared in Vienna during the 15th or 16th century. According to another theory, it was introduced by Field Marshal Radetzky, who spent much of his life in Milan, in 1857. The term “Wiener Schnitzel” itself dates to at least 1862.

when vegans eat out pt. 6
today i had a spontaneous lunch at Sapa, the trendy Vietnamese restaurant in Neubau (1070). a few of their dishes are vegan-friendly, make sure to always tell them to add no fish(y) sauce to your order.
i had a delicious To Bun (as usual; costs € 8,20), i love the peanuty, minty tofu-veggie-noodle mix, and one of these days i will re-create this dish. just you wait!

i had 10 minutes to check out the food section at ikea while waiting for the free bus shuttle back into town. here is what i found:
potatichips saltade - potato chips salted
flädersaft - elderberry syrup
leksands knäcke - swedish crispbread
choklad mörk - dark chocolate
paid € 6 for all of this svenska food.

yummy & fun: edamame!
“Edamame is a green vegetable more commonly known as a soybean, harvested at the peak of ripening right before it reaches the “hardening” time. The word Edamame means “Beans on Branches,” and it grows in clusters on bushy branches. To retain the freshness and its natural flavor, it is parboiled and quick-frozen. In East Asia, the soybean has been used for over two...

vegan health: veg1 chewable multivitamins
i decided to finally spend €10 (for 90) on these multivitamins (now that our favourite Formosa is stocking them). better safe than sorry, right?
here is info on the product. of course, a healthy diet can not be replaced by these little pills. but you knew that, right?
