when vegans eat out pt. 3
there is a new kid on the block and i hope we’ll be friends soon.
a few days ago a place appropriately named Kaffee Vegan opened its doors in the 9th district, close to the university, ironically enough in the very same spot Samolis (RIP) used to make us drool over their delicious “cheese” burgers.
so, we went today and were informed at the door that “there’s only pizza available”. well, pizza is fine! pizza it is! i picked two medium sized slices, generously topped with veggies, cheese and sausage. it was good and at € 0, 70 a mere bargain! we even got free non-alcoholic drinks, too bad my orange juice tasted rotten.
there are some exciting items listed on the menu, breakfast all day, hot dogs, chili, cookies, many coffee variations. everything sounds great, isn’t actually available yet, though. the owner couldn’t answer me when other menu items will be available “because the pizza is so much work”. actually i was really underwhelmed with the service, to be honest.
so, this is what we’ll do, dear vegans, we’ll wait and see and return in a month or two and hope that we’ll enjoy a great breakfast or chili, and then some cookies.
