vegan travels: Bratislava, slovakia
Since Bratislava, Slovakia is only a one hour train ride away from Vienna the International PPK vegan gang decided to take a day trip there.

Hungry after a fun and loud train ride we decided to go straight to grab some lunch.

Happy Cow lists a few vegetarian options, one of them is the Govinda Hare Krshna restaurant located at Obchodna 30 in the Old City. We decided to pass up curries, though and went straight to City Restaurant.

City Restaurant offers a daily changing vegetarian menu with vegan options. We were lucky and found a nice business lady to help us find the vegan options - the guys working the counter don’t speak much English- and we ended up with a simple filling dish: ragu and rice, a salad and fruit salad. We even found flapjacks by the register, a perfect snack for hungry travelers!

You can find City Restaurant upstairs at Obchodna 58.

We grabbed espressos at Schokocafe; piccolo means small and lango with extra hot water, just so you know :)

Shopped at a tiny health food store at Grosslingova 20. More on what goodies we found there in tomorrow’s entry!

Bratislava is a quaint little town perfect for a day trip, it feeds a vegan well after some asking around, the TVP is cheap and widely available, it’s walkable, people are helpful and I will definitely visit soon again.
