The wonderful Melisser, also known as The Urban Housewife in the vegan blogosphere, is my traveling hero! She is also the mastermind behind Sugar Beat Sweets and in the process of opening her own storefront in SF! This woman is an inspirational blogger, traveler and friend!

1. when did you go vegan?
I went vegan about 2 and a half years ago. I was vegetarian before then, eating a mainly vegan diet & knew ethically I needed to go vegan, but I hadn’t had success with sweets. Once I baked some delicious vegan treats, I was on board 100%!
2. finish this sentence: veganism is awesome because…There’s so many fun, compassionate vegans out there that I enjoy meeting when I travel. Of course, saving animals lives is the best part!
3. what is your favourite vegan dish do you like to make/cook, what is your favourite vegan dish to eat ?I like to cook Indian food or anything with a ton of seasonal vegetables; lots of Brussels Sprouts make their way in to this kitchen. We also get very vegan around here & eat a lot of Kale & Quinoa, something has to off-set all the sweets we consume! My favorite dish to eat.. Does ice cream count?
4. list everything you have eaten today (so far).Well, it’s only lunch time, so nothing too crazy..
