vegan baking: Marmorkuchen
rainy summer days were invented for baking, i swear.
i decided to finally make a Marmorkuchen (marble cake), an old childhood favourite of mine.
the recipe was found on the interwebs and was easy enough, eventhough i almost sliced the top of a finger off when mixing the margarine with the sugar. don’t ask, it’s a long embarrassing story, and nothing a band aid couldn’t fix happened.
WHAT
200 g margarine
200 g sugar
1 pack vanilla sugar
3 tablespoons soy flour
400 g flour
1 pack baking powder
1/2 - 1 cup water
2 tablespoons cacao
HOW
mix together margarine, sugar and vanilla sugar
mix in soy flour, flour, baking powder and water and stir well.
put 2/3 of the batter into a well greased pan
add cacao to rest of the batter, then add on top of light batter and mix in dark batter w/ a fork.
bake at 175 Celsius for 50-60 minutes. pre-heat the oven, of course!
let the cake fully cool off before you cut it, ok? enjoy with a cup of coffee.
