a little birdy told us that Fresco Grill is playing around with smoked tofu for their burritos, tacos et cetera. They are already pretty veg*n-friendly, so check them out!

• we are shocked and in disbelief that the Austrian company Manner changed their 110 year old recipe for their famous wafers to include milk sugar. contact them and express your sadness, why don’t you? you can even join this new facebook group and commiserate. & make sure to stock up on the still vegan-friendly wafers.
• Vegusto is pleasantly surprising us with a new No-Muh-Chaes. we are big fans!

we like what we are seeing. ice cream, bagels, cake!

new vegan store opening soon!

a store with vegan products and, wait for it!, vegan ice cream will open this month right next to the 1070 location of Loving Hut. we are thinking mini-Formosa? 
we will give you more information once the store is open and we got to try the free samples we were given today!

Vegetasia in 1070 is now called Xu’s Cooking, prices went up a little, the buffet is rocking way more fake meat on Sundays and we still like the place and all its mock meat glory.

vegan gossip: this and that

1. Formosa, our favourite mock meat pusher, has added a few new dishes to their menu! We tried the ham fried rice (pic) and sampled the vegetable lasagna (delicious!)
2. as reported by a vegan scout, a new restaurant is opening in our hood, 1070. we will keep you posted but we are expecting and hoping for asian/american fast food and desserts. excited!
3. There’s a sale going on at Ozelot and Mat & Nat bags have been spotted for 30 - 50 % off. Hurry!
4. A little birdy told us that Biomarkt Maran is closing their recently opened Lindengasse - branch. Is that spot doomed? the 7th district bobos will cry many tears.
